The Office of Admissions welcomes our admitted MD'29 candidates to visit The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University for Second Look 2025! This will provide you with the opportunity to meet prospective classmates, current students, and faculty, as well as sample the rich variety of learning experiences—clinical, research, and community-based—that comprise medical education at Brown. This event is by invitation only, and registration is required (instructions were sent to you via email). No programming will be recorded, and there are no virtual-attendance options.
A detailed agenda will be given to you upon arrival.

Second Look is designed for incoming students, and there is no on-campus programming available for parents, siblings, or friends. Significant others may attend all your weekend events (name on your registration required) except the 1:30 pm building tour on Saturday—during that time, there will be a "Life As the Significant Other of a Med Student" panel for them! In the fall, your family may attend your White Coat Ceremony (date TBD but usually late September; exact date typically announced in June).
Additional Information
Lodging / Student Hosts
Please visit https://www.brown.edu/about/visit/accommodations for a list of local hotels offering a special Brown rate. There are many wonderful Airbnbs in Providence as well. If you prefer to stay with an AMS student host, please see the document that was attached to the email that included the link to this site.
Arriving by Plane/Train
There are many taxi and ride sharing options that provide regularly scheduled service between T.F. Green Airport and downtown Providence. Interlink, which includes a train station accessible by skywalk from the airport terminal, is served by Amtrak and Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). The Providence train station is 0.9 miles away from the medical school, a short ride share away or an approximate 15-minute (scenic!) walk.
Parking
Parking will be provided in the 222 Richmond Street garage connected to the medical school building (corner of Richmond and Elm Streets, entering on Elm Street; not the Eddy Street garage across the street from the medical school). Please take a ticket when you enter the garage, and then see the medical school security desk upon leaving for a chaser ticket / validation.
What to Wear?
Business casual dress is suggested for Friday afternoon / evening activities. Plan on wearing comfortable shoes as well. Weather permitting, you will be walking to the different activities on Friday. April’s weather in the Northeast can be unpredictable, so we suggest bringing a light jacket. For Saturday’s activities, casual dress is acceptable.
Luggage
For Friday, we strongly recommend leaving all luggage / bulky items at your hotel or student host's apartment. We will be leaving the medical school around 5:00 pm for the reception (i.e., not returning to the medical school). We will be providing you with AMS drawstring backpacks, which most people use throughout the evening and put their wallet or small purse in as well. If you are arriving Saturday or leaving directly from AMS after the program ends and therefore need to bring your luggage, this is fine; we have a place where it can be stored during the daytime in the building.
Please note we do not offer travel stipends for Second Look.
